ARTIST STATEMENT:
"The piece is based on the 1950's fixation on Sci-fi. I wanted to create the atmosphere of what I thought a little boys room would look like in that time period (ray gun, rocket, aliens and "Area 51" sign). I love that I was able to put in the portable 45 player with the Frank Sinatra records, being that I am a huge Sinatra fan.
This is the first time I shifted direction towards a youthful feel in the art were the objects in the room evoke different emotions than my other pieces that deal with love and or heartache. "

"This piece represents two people in a relationship, a relationship with a large amount of value. It looked as though disaster was headed their way... The reasons that it got this way are not important but what is, is the fact that both realized that fixing the problem was worth more than destroying what they had built.
The crack on the floor represents the separation and you can see how close it has come to the wall that has two trees forming the shape of a heart... The band-aid is there to show not only that they both compromised, fixed and stopped the disaster from continuing but also as a bridge for both of them to be together again... "
